Aisling Bea

Aisling B a was born on 16 March, 1984, in Kildare Ireland. She appeared with Stephen Fry on QI. Aisling O'Sullivan, better known by her stage name Aisling Bea (born on 16 March 1984) is an Irish writer, actress and comedian. Bea began her stand-up show in 2011after having appeared as a guest on a variety of Irish TV shows as well as British series from 2009. She was already regularly appearing on sketch comedy shows as well as sitcoms. She began appearing regularly in panel shows following her win of an award from in the Edinburgh Comedy Awards. She's been part of 8 Out of 10 Cats since the year 2016 and is a popular contestant of the spinoff 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. She was born to Brian O'Sullivan, she has one sister called Sinead. She became only the second female winner of So You Think You're Funny in 2012. Bea's surname is in honour of her father who passed away. Aisling Claiodhnadhs Sullivan was born on March 16, 1984, from Kildare, County Kildare. Bea's father Brian who was an equine vet who committed suicide after Bea turned three was the suicide victim. Bea was informed of his suicide only after thirteen years of age. The stage name Bea was a tribute for her father. Bea wrote an opinion piece in The Guardian, published in 2017 on her journey dealing with suicide. Bea (and her younger sister Sinead) were brought up in a home by Helen Moloney, who was a school instructor and trainer of jockeys who was also a professional jockey. Her family were obsessed with racing meetings and horses. As a young girl, Bea worked as an assistant tour guide for the Irish National Stud however she realized at an early age that she was not keen on the sport of racing for a profession, but instead enjoyed performing.
